Careers
in Science, Engineering, Construction and Technology.
There are
lots of jobs out there; it's just a matter of
finding the right one for you!

Science
Scientists work for a variety of employers from
manufacturing companies and government organisations,
to hospitals and research institutes. Scientists
don't spend their lives shut away in labs acting
like the stereo-typical image of the 'absent
minded professor', they work with people in
organisations, attend conferences, deal with
the public, manage staff. Everything scientists
do affect our daily lives, what we eat, drink,
our health.

Engineering
Engineering may be a career for you. No matter
what subjects you enjoy, whether this is Science,
Maths, Languages, Art, Geography or Economics,
there is always an area of work that will suit
you in this field. There are many engineering
disciplines: mechanical, electrical, electronic,
civil and structural, chemical and manufacturing.
These engineering roles relate to all the subjects
mentioned above but most of all these roles
will give you skills in management, business
and IT.

Construction
Working in construction covers a wide range
and variety of careers. You may enjoy the hands
on practical parts of the industry and get great
satisfaction from making and doing things e.g.
joinery, bricklaying, plastering. Or you might
be interested in a management or professional
role e.g. surveying, design, architectural technician,
project management or planning. There is so
much to choose from.

Technology
Information technology has been one of the fastest
growing fields of employment over the past 10
years. Everyone is now affected by the growth
of the information super highway and digital
technology. There is a whole array of different
kinds of jobs that can be considered including
website design, software development, IT support
and technicians, product developers and lots
more. It could be for you!
